Quick. Fun. Over.

Welcome to Monday, Reader-Friends!

First weekend of the semester. It had to be the quickest ever! Saturday was packed full of fun…and lots of walking!

Jon and I started the day with the farmer’s market in my hometown. I have been cooking up such a storm lately that I decided to become the proud plant-mommy of…

what could it be???

TA DA! Meet Basil and Rosemary! (cute names, huh?)

They smell so good! Let’s pray that I don’t kill these little beauts! I'm going to have to make some more caprice while I have such a lovely bunch of basil leaves!

Next, I went on a thrifting adventure with two of my sweet friends. If  you have been around here for any amount of time, you know that I have a growing addiction love for thrift shopping! Saturday was probably the unhealthiest happiest I have been at Goodwill. Ya’ll, I can’t do it. I just can’t reveal how much I spent at the THRIFT store! I just can’t let anyone let me feel guilty for spending a nice hunk of change at the THRIFT store! And besides, I finally gave up on all my “skinny-mini” clothes in my closet. You know the accumulating articles that you keep saying “when I lose that ten pounds, I will fit in this.” I’m moving on. I gave bags and bags away to Goodwill and got things that just fit me as I am- all womanly and such these days! Like I said, I’m not telling how much I spent but I will show you the treasure sack.

Arrrggggh! Me found me some jewels, love! #PirateTalk

The night was filled with great friends and great food. Jon and my Life Group from our church had a get-together. And I was so exhausted from all my heavy duty shopping, I didn’t take one photo. But trust me, everyone’s contribution to the array of finger-food was tasty tasty and the friendly talk was sweet stuff on a lingering summer night.

Have a mad-awesome Monday, Reader-Friends!

Over-Due Love

Hey there, my sweet Reader-Friends!

I haven’t linked up with Jamie for What I’m Loving Wednesday in quite awhile. So, here’s to a long over due link-up!

WILW

I’m loving…that I have dinner plans with a sweet friend that I haven’t seen in about three-ish years, yet I see her almost daily in the lovely blogosphere!

Do you know this doll? Visit her at The Delighted and be prepared to be delighted yourself!

I’m loving…that my summer online classes are OVER. Done! A couple more A’s for the transcript and a little less stress for me! I am, however, still taking Biology and lab for another week, but it’s a pretty interesting course, so no excessive gripping here. #dork

I’m loving…that this time next week my feet will be planted in delta soil! I take my last test on Tuesday afternoon and then I ‘m headed to Cleveland for a few days to see my man and spruce up the house for the semester! The trim needs a clean coat of paint!

I’m loving…that tonight I get to gather with some Jesus-loving folks to prayer walk the schools in our county. We will be praying for all those involved in the school system, from the board members to the students and their parents.

“What if His people prayed?”

{If your in Desoto County and are interested in lifting up our schools, then feel free to join us tonight! We’re meeting in the Hernando Baptist Church fellowship hall @ 6pm and then heading out to the schools.)

A bunch of random loves, but nonetheless, lovely! What are you loving today?

Authentic

Well Happy Monday, Reader-Friends!

{Yeah, I did just use “happy” and “Monday” in the same phrase; in very close proximity even! Sorry, Negative Nancys!}

If I can say that with two upcoming tests back to back tomorrow, then you can too!

My sweet friend, Nicole is doing a challenge in order to find 1,000 things to be thankful for and it’s got me in a positive frame of mind. Thanks, Nicole! Check her page out. You just might want to get involved!

I just want to say: church was good yesterday. I learned a lot in life group and service. God’s convicting hand was upon my heart and I have taken a few brave steps of spirituality  personally today because of it. There are a multitude of things God has brought to my attention that I would love to share, but this is just one little post and honestly, I’m not quite ready to share yet. I will make this confession, though: I have not spent any kind of quality time with my savior this summer. The quantity of our times together has even lacked tremendously.

I’m not going to lie, that was hard to put out there. Some of you may be rolling your eyes. But some of you may completely get this: we don’t want people, especially other Christians, to know that our relationship with God is suffering. And though some of you have written this post off as boring and left, some of you are still here, and I appreciate your presence, because you are my witnesses. Blogging has become more than a fun hobby. It’s a tool of accountability. I don’t know if this is how it is for all bloggers, but I know for me, I feel like I have a responsibility to live up to the person I present on this page. In my mind, the world can see me on here, and though I may, and probably will never meet 99% of the people that somehow end up on my page at some point, I feel it a moral responsibility to be honest and authentic.

So, sincerely, here’s to honesty. Here’s to humanity. Here’s to the grace of God’s open arms when we decide to turn back around and face him.

“Return to me,” declares the Lord Almighty, “and I will return to you!”

The First Bit of Business

Hey Reader-Friends!

I have been straight out giddy about this blog business! Thanks for sticking around to help and if you're new to page check out what's up on my Confessions of a Blogger in Need of Some Changes post. Let's take care of a little of that business, ok?

Here are some options for a new blog title. Remember that I really want the title to reflect who I am and what readers will find here on this blog. Remember that I can mix and match tag lines and titles, as well as take other suggestions (even if they do not pretain to what I have put up). Remember I need as much help as I can get, so feel free to be opinionated.  Encourage your friends to stop by and throw in a few words too! You are all fabulous!
Ready? Without further adieu...

So, What do you think? Comment, email, fb, whatever-just let me know!
Well, I shared about my travels to Asia with a small group at church last night. It went pretty well, despite the fact that I clearly cannot pronounce any words involving the letter "f" without sounding like a goob (thank you, oh so wonderful braces).
Here is what I wore:

Sadly, Summer attendence is always low at chruch, but I had some really great supporters that did come out. And after the service my wonderful mama took one of those supporters and me out for pizza at Brick Oven. Yummy!

I had an intense craving for margarita pizza.

One of my beautiful supporters, Olivia Jo and me at dinner:
I had to change because my beautiful Asain garb was made for a tiny Asain woman, and I not only needed to breathe but to fill my belly with some American goodness!
Posing prettyily,,,or maybe just being silly:

Thanks for stoping by, Reader-Friends. And Thanks for your help with the blog-makeover!
