Fancy & Fall

I know this doesn’t technically constitute an outfit post, Reader-Friends, but it most definitely is still a Thrifty Rich post, because I got these little beauts from no other than the Goodwill.

How much? MMmmmm, you know, about 99 cents! I have been wearing the heck out of them, too. They can make anything I wear fancy!
Have you found any glitz at the thrift lately?

Don’t forget to head on over to Morgan's page to share with the thrifty community!

Before I go, I have something WONDERFUL to share! Who is absolutely cray-cray about the Fall season?

I know I am, and it’s a season worth celebrating! My sweet bloggy friend Kristin is hosting a Fall swap! What’ a Fall swap, you ask? Essentially a celebration…with PRESENTS! Interested? Well, all you have to do is visit Kristin at Vignettes and leave your email with her on the Fall-Friendship Swap page, and then you will be randomly paired with another blogger to exchange an inexpensive package of Fall goodness with each other! Sweet, isn’t it!? Just think scarves, mittens, warm candles, soup mix, fall décor, stationary galore! There is a $15 limit and entry ends on September 30th, so hurry over to Kristen’s page and join in on all the Fall fun!

Where have YOU been?

You may ask. Well, Reader-Friends, besides being terribly busy with school, I have been taking on some pretty challenging life feats. For instance, rock-climbing and roughing it in the woods! Last weekend I went with a group from my university to Jamestown, Arkansas. And as promised, here’s the recap! Remember, last week I shared how I was nervous about  not knowing anyone on the trip? Well, we all became instant buddies!!! Be prepared, there are many pictures  coming at ya!

As the sun was setting we were headed into the woods.DSCN6021

My new friend Bobby showed us girls how to build a “manly” fire.DSCN6023

He did a pretty good job!DSCN6028

Hiking to the rocks…Not going to lie hiking was even exhausting, especially coming back up!DSCN6041

Todd and Bobby demonstrating how to rappel down. If you are an adrenaline addict then I would recommend this little activity. Noting like hanging off a cliff backwards to get your heart pumping!DSCN6056

Way up there! Can you believe I’m getting a college credit for all this fun?

New friends!

After the first day of climbing, we had some chill time at the campsite, so we played washers. Bobby and I kind of dominated! We did a lot of trash talking and then  grabbed a “victory stick.” Here is the victory stick, oh and our friend T in the background because she is burning with jealousy:

The end result of labor day weekend?  New friends, an amazingly fun time, a good kick off to getting back in shape, and on the down side, this:

Calamine lotion all over my bit up ankles, scratches and bruises all over my legs. No skirts for me for awhile, but it was so worth it!DSCN6184

There will be more pictures on Facebook (you can connect through my FB button on this page), but for those of you that have had enough, I shall end it here. Before I go, I want to encourage all my  Reader-Friends to step out of their comfort zone once in awhile, to try new things, or even to do things you love more often, and lastly to not be afraid to connect with people you do not know, because seriously, you will come out a better person or at least appreciate life a little more because of it.
