I could not sleep at ALL last night. It probably had something to do with the nap that occupied my entire afternoon yesterday (it is the day of rest, you know). I tossed and turned all night, even after I finally drifted asleep at 1am. I definitely figured this morning was going to be a killer. To my surprise, though, I timed everything very well as far as getting out the door when I intended (with time to make my bed even), and I was pretty chipper too! Went to the office, where I work on campus, and enjoyed a free cup of coffee while I did a bit of faxing and such. Then I went to class-Advance Composition and American Lit. I start with Dr. Ford, who is the most intimidating five foot woman alive. She is all about business and taking care of it even if you die in the process. I think she would view death by critical analysis an honor. All in all she as my professor, and this particular class is rock solid "investment" (she may have used the very word in class, but I believed it before then-this is round three with her) in my English career. Next class is instructed by Dr. Sarcone and I couldn't have asked for a better contrast in two hours. I get all the passion with Dr. Ford and then some comic relief to my very studies. Don't be misled though, Sarcone is also a small woman that will scare the pee out of you. Speaking of misleading...
You know what was misleading? Every year refund checks take a few days to get printed and such, so you usually spend the first week's afternoons standing in a seemingly endless line to find out that they still don't have your check. Then you are completely stressed because you have homework assignments coming out of your ears without the texts to do them with because you can't purchase them without the money from your refund. Well this year a beautiful thing happened. I got a nice sized refund check within only a few moments of standing in line. So this was just the cherry on the top to my day and expected the rest to follow suit. WRONG. That was the cherry that misleading all over it! Rotten cherry, will make your tummy hurt cherry! I got to the bank and locked my keys in my car! Called campus police to find out that they do not extend their free locksmith service beyond the boundaries of the campus. Where was I parked? the boundary line. So after I called a less than proud boyfriend, who seemed all but thrilled to bring a close hanger that has never worked the two other times (yes I know, I am a dumb woman-with too much on my mind) on my car, I called the city cops and two different lock smiths...one was too busy the other was rude. Rudy was the winner and he took home thirty two dollars of my refund check as a prize.
Now, my intentions were to forget about it and go buy books to do the homework that I was assigned already this afternoon. Instead I am blogging the events because the bookstore declined my card because as I am sure all banking customers (except the dumb woman with too much on her mind) remember that the money you deposit is not available till the next day. YEP! so NOW I am going off to make a better day for myself with a positive attitude!
Until Next time, yes I will accept encouragement!
