Hello 2011, Hello 268

Well 2011 is literally around the corner! I am so excited about this new year. I feel like I put on my "positive pants" over Christmas break and I am ready to take on all 2011 has to offer with a grin! Yeah, I know that sounded totally cheesy, but I don't care; Negative Nancy has been my name more than I wanted this past semester thanks to the stress of junior year and a ridiculous busy schedule. This year, the plan is to embrace imperfection. I am going to work hard, but not to death. At one point I went seven days, SEVEN DAYS without sleep...just little power naps here and there! Please shake me and ask if I have an early death wish if I try that again. Honestly, I know that there will still be some inevitable all nighters coming my way but they are being limited to extreme crunch times. Seriously.

Thanks to Nicole I am going to be apart of Beth Moore's SSMT- Siesta Scripture Memorization Team annnnnnd I am inviting all my fellow "siestas" to join! Check out Beth's blog to learn how to participate in this wonderful 2011 experience too! But hurry we start tomorrow!!!

Last night Jon and I went on a date :)

This is actually take 2...In the first one, our smiles were very, very fake. So I said, "Someone should say something that will make us smile, for real." (it worked with Jess and Amber Grace) Jonathan looks at me and says, "I know something funny."
Looking at him with arched eye brows, "What?"
Very quickly, "I love you."
Ta Da!
We went to dinner at

Mainly so we could eat these delicious, warm...

mmmmmm...so good!
Then we headed to the Malco and watched...

I thought the movie was grand! Depp is so funny! There really is no actor like him...such an awkward yet brilliant artist. I would recommend this movie but caution for a little bit of language and a few violent scenes.

We had a really nice night, with good conversation. I like those kinds of dates. :)

So speaking of the man, you know that sweet Christmas gift he gave me? (Kindle) I ordered something VERY cute to personalize it!
If you cannot tell, there are books hanging on the tree! I CAN'T WAIT till it gets here!
Oh, and another thing that is great about 2011 is that I signed up for Prime membership with Amazon.com. This is actually a pretty pricey membership but since I am in school, it is free for a year! Basically I get free two day shipping on everything I order from Amazon...and one day shipping is only 3.99! If you have an email address with .edu in the name then I advise you take advantage of this great little perk too!

Well, I am headed back to Cleveland tonight to have a little dinner at my house with some friends and shout "Happy New Year!" I wish the weather would stop looking so ugly. We want to grill out and test out Jon's new fire pit! mmmmm smores!

Get ready. I bet I will be blogging about some blessings VERY soon because tomorrow I am on my ever loving way to...

And I can't think of a better way to start the beginning of the year than praising Jesus with thousands and thousands of other college students! We are Generation268!

One more thing before I end...My Daddy and Mama just left for the Doctor's office. If you haven't heard my Daddy had his bladder removed about a year ago because he had very invasive cancer. After the surgery there was still a little cancer left in his lmyphnodes (sp ck) and they thought about doing chemo but with his weak kidneys and heart it was a very risky option. They decided to just watch it the cancer for awhile. Pray the tests show that it hasn't moved so he doesn't have to be sick. Thank you, sweet readers and friends.

I was really wanting to see The Tourist too, but haven't made it yet. I was never really an Angelina Jolie fan until I saw Salt...also a really good movie. Cute blog! :-)
