I have been a world traveler with no time to blog! I have been to East Asia and back and spent a few days in Gattlinburg with my man and his family. So much has happened in the past few weeks I will have to break it all up in a few posts so that my friends' eyes don't get tired! Speaking of tired, I sure am!
As soon as I got back from Asia (which took a whole extra day of flying due to delays-oh my, I smelled!) I was up at 6am to register for summer classes, I had braces slapped on my teeth, and an eye doctor appt., then with my laptop and books in hand I jumped in my man's family van for a 7 hour road trip to Gattlinburg.
I'll start with the most recent and back track...
So this was the first family vacation I have been on, and despite the pain in my mouth and inability to eat any of the delicious entrees everyone else was experiencing (I'm rethinking these braces) it was a fantastic time!
We stayed in GORGEOUS three story cabin that had a BEAUTIFUL view...in fact that was the name of the site: A Beautiful View
We spent Friday to Wednesday touring Gattlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We did some shopping, went to Ripley's aquarium and museum, rode some go-karts (the Hildebrant boys drive rough-I'm pretty sure no bumping means NO BUMPING!), and went to Dollywood!
One night we ate at Dolly's Dixie Stampede. It was so neat! Everyone is served dinner as a VERY entertaining show with horses and even buffalo occurs in arena right in front of you! I couldn't take any pictures inside :( but I did get some of the pre-show.
Jon's parents-They joke ALL the TIME! They're a lot of fun!
The bathrooms at Dixie Stampede...Opposite sides of the stadium were North and South too! I definitely recommend this attraction to anyone headed to Gattlinburg!
Isn't he so cute!? At Ripley's Aquarium there is a Penguin Playhouse and I was in heaven! Penguins are my FAVORITE animal and this exhibit was 10 times better than the zoo! They were very interactive and you could get really close to them. I had a purse I got in Asia that looks like cute fish and one of the penguins wanted to play with it! Jon's parents got this little guy above for me. It was really funny-Mr.Chuck called me on my cell phone while I was in a different area of the gift shop and said in a whisper, "hey, meet me in the penguins." Then he let me pick one out. I love cuddling with stuffed animals when I sleep and I don't care if you judge me. :)
Yeah, we did it! and it was fun! Some of you may have done the old time photo shops before and know that the dress is actually open in the back. Well I had pants on so they provided boxer shorts that were WAY too big for me and I had to walk out in the open with those hideous things on. Jon's mama turned red she was laughing so hard. It was worth it though-that crooked smile of Jon's makes me melt!
He bought me this pretty purse in Gattlinburg. Isn't that nice?
We went to this WONDERFUL place called the Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge...OH MY, if you love Christmas, you would love this place! It's huge and covered in trees, lights, and best of all ornaments! Even better there were clearance ornaments...I got all these guys for only ten bucks all together:
The penguin in the middle was another goodie Jon's parents got for me. They know I LOVE penguins! Too say they least I got spoiled.
If you been around here for awhile you know how much I love birds and cages. This next purchase might be my favorite:
Isn't he beautiful? Behind him are some pictures they did at Dixie Stampede...We weren't that pretty. We had a hot, sweaty day.
Gattlinburg, TN is VERY family friendly. I definitely recommend it. And if you're lucky your trip will end with exciting finale like ours. On our last day this is what we saw playing with the car tag on the family van...
More catching up to come!
Blogging my Battles and Blessings,
Amber Marie

Looks like you have had a wonderful summer so far!
My advice on the braces - take advil before and after you go to the orthodontist EVERY time. It makes a difference!
I LOVE the old school pic of you guys. PRECIOUS!
